Together with UNICEF, we’re working out to make a difference for the 450 million children living in areas of extreme water vulnerability.
Back your Fitness Instructor, create a team or sign up individually to take on the challenge of 450 reps, every day for 7 days.
Plus, we’ll send the top two individual fundraisers and the top fundraising team to the ultimate training festival LES MILLS LIVE in October 2024. Accommodation, tickets, and ‘backstage passes’ are all included.
Let’s go, Aotearoa!

FAQS
Workout for Water is an exercise challenge which can be completed by anyone, no matter where you’re at on your fitness journey. Complete 450 reps of any exercise, every day for 7 days – solo or as a team. Complete your reps at home, in the office, in a park, or come into one of our Les Mills gyms for an extra ounce of motivation.
We will be promoting Workout for Water to our 50,000 strong membership base right across New Zealand, as well as using our social media platforms to share and promote this activation to a wider audience. We will also be providing free access to all Les Mills gyms for fundraisers during the promotion period (starting from our campaign launch on February 9th through to the end of the challenge on March 28th). Non-members need to simply show us their fundraising page which has been set up at workoutforwater.org and we’ll provide full member access until March 28th .
We are so privileged here in Aotearoa to live in a country where - whilst not without our own challenges - we have a strong sense of peace and stability compared to much of the world. Workout for Water is our opportunity to engage our teams, instructors, trainers, members, and the wider NZ public in something bigger than our workouts. We can do what we do best - help make humans fit for life, whilst simultaneously raising funds and awareness for the incredible work that UNICEF does all around the world.
The Workout for Water campaign raised almost $1,000,000 in 2019 and, despite our small size, New Zealand was the second highest fundraising country! We want to do that again – aiming to take the number one spot perhaps! Ultimately, the goal for Workout for Water is to raise as much money as possible to add to UNICEF’s unrestricted funding, meaning the donations will be used flexibly and where the need is greatest.
At Les Mills, we’re passionate about the work UNICEF does. By partnering together, we can create a much greater impact, working towards a shared goal of creating a world where every child not only survives but thrives.
“Partnering with UNICEF has been one of the best things I have ever done. Together we’re helping families in Ethiopia access solar powered clean water and we’re supporting children in emergencies in Ukraine, Syria and Türkiye. I’m incredibly proud of our instructors for raising US$ 2 million for UNICEF to help children all around the world. I cannot wait to see what we do together next!”
