Back in high school I used to play Football for school and club but had to stop playing due to moving away to Wellington for a few years, so I had to replace my love for playing sport with something else that’s when I turned to the gym and started training. When I first moved back to Dunedin in 2019 I started to play futsal every Monday night, at first I was only playing for a mixed team but then one of the guys in the team asked if I wanted to play for a men’s team as well, so I played for two teams for quite a while until I succumbed to an injury in both of my knees I didn’t think anything of it at first thinking it would just pass but how wrong I was, this was two years ago and I’m still having problems now. So when I decided to stop playing to do rehab and focus on my physical health I turned back to the gym and fell in love with training.
When I first went to the gym I didn’t know much about it and got given a starter programme from a PT, so I decided to stick to that for the mean time until I gained confidence. Now I train for makes me feel happy and what makes me feel good, I mostly train hypertrophy with a little bit of HIIT. The reason I wanted to become a PT was to help people gain confidence in the gym and get to love it like I do. My training style now is that I want to help people with gaining confidence and feel good training, getting in better shape or getting fit for sport, I want to help you achieve your goals.
